There’s room at the cross for you.
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Let me tell you guys. I ALMOST downed a cup of coffee at 12:45 AM. Until I remembered…. I had already brushed my teeth…. and… coffee stains teeth. So I grumpily decided against it.
This is going to be another spiritual post, and I’m really considering doing a prayer post everyday because writing and typing make me focus solely on the topic I’m writing about, and what’s better to focus on than talking to the Lord?
Anyways, we had 11 o’clock service today, on Christmas day, which was a wonderful blessing. I can’t think of a better place to be on the day we celebrate the birth of the Messiah than in God’s house.
My preacher, the wonderful man he is, brought up a point that he has made many, many times.
In the book of Luke, chapter 1, God chooses Mary, a virgin, to give birth to the Son of God. God had searched all the young women and found Mary to be the best fit for the job. Mary was living in a very exciting time in her life, one that any woman would rejoice over. She was engaged, and she was planning out her wedding and getting prepared to start a life with her soon to be husband. God sent an angel to seek her, and Mary put aside all of that excitement (something most of us wouldn’t do) and only asked the angel how she could give birth to Jesus without losing her virginity. She threw away all the excitement of her earthly life, and accepted the duty the Lord had given her! The angel sent her to her cousin, who was pregnant with John the Baptist. When Mary, who had just became pregnant, entered to meet her cousin, her cousin’s child leaped and stirred within her whom. Jesus, who had just been conceived, was already stirring the heart of John, from within his mother’s womb. God already had a plan for both of those children.
I said all that to say this, God is God. And God is all-knowing. God has a plan for you. Before you were ever conceived in your mother’s womb, God knew you, which means God thought of you. God made you just the way you are. You aren’t worthless. You aren’t a piece of junk. You aren’t trash. If you follow God and accept His Son as your Lord and Savior, God will reveal to you His plan for you. You and God are a majority, and with God, nothing is impossible. He loves you. He’s there.
Happy Birthday Jesus. How blessed was Mary, to give birth to our precious Savior. I can’t wait to meet you in Heaven one day big guy. I love you so much. Thank you for praying for me.
